With the upgrade, you should expect these performance gains.

Our Piper test aircraft have shown the following improvements:

  • Increase in climb performance +200 fpm. After takeoff, we typically see 1000fpm climb for the Bold Warrior and 800 fpm for the Cherokee Scout.

  • Decrease in takeoff roll:  -350 ft

  • Increase in cruise speed: +6 kts (6-10 knots depending on propeller choice.)

  • Increase in service ceiling:  +3000 ft

  • Range at 75% POWER at 8000 ft:  Range increase of 35 miles

Of course nothing is free. To achieve these numbers, expect an additional fuel burn of 1.2 gph on average. There is a 18 lb decrease in useful load as the empty weight increases due to the slightly heavier motor and propeller. 

Our Citabria 7GCBC test aircraft have shown the following improvements:

  • Increase in climb performance +800 fpm.

  • Decrease in takeoff roll:  -550 ft

  • Increase in cruise speed: +16 kts

Expect an additional fuel burn of 1.2 gph on average. There is a 18 lb decrease in useful load as the empty weight increases due to the slightly heavier motor and propeller.
